BirdDog SDM Module

for easy NDI installations

As many people know, the team at Blonde Robot are great mates of Midwich and BirdDog is one of the premier brands they represent.

BirdDog Intel® SDM (Intel® Smart Display Module) with NDI® and Dante* support revolutionises the way AV content is streamed to NEC M Series large format displays – even for the largest installations.

The SDM module is simply installed inside an NEC M Series large format display for the most integrated and scalable NDI to screen solution available.

BirdDog has created a complete Operating System for Intel® SDM platform, simply called BirdDog OS. This gives a truly integrated NDI distribution system and with M1 and M2 BirdDog SDM modules to choose from, there is a solution for every project.

With support for resolutions all the way up to 4K 60p, there is also RESTful API for programming completely automated spaces.

Wall boxes and patch panels are a thing of the past. Now the AV distribution is built directly into the display and a single Ethernet cable is all that’s required to stream AV content from anywhere on the network.

1. M1 is a full NDI sender and receiver based on the Intel SDM-L form factor. With the send function you can plug a source such as a laptop in and then duplicate that across any number of additional BirdDog display activated screens.

2. M2 is an NDI receiver built on the Intel® SDM-S module. Receive NDI from anywhere on the network to display onscreen.

With an optional Dante activation licence the M1 and M2 can achieve full Dante support. The M1 can embed Dante audio into the NDI stream and also disembed Dante audio out of the NDI stream. Perfect for receiving NDI and splitting Dante out to the audio system in conference rooms, educational facilities, corporate AV spaces, and more.
