Single Room (Classroom)

Audio solutions within a classroom or education environment include:

Either a separate system, where teaching content is handled on a completely different platform to audio for background music, paging, and alerts or an integrated system where ALL the audio requirement is contained within a single platform minimising cost in hardware, installation and maintenance times. Midwich offers both.

Audio for In-Room Devices

Components from Ecler, Terracom & LEA Professional depending on requirements of room and audience size.

Wall plate examples (Inputs):
  • Ecler WPaMIX-T - 2 channel micro-mixer for a stereo unbalanced signal (2 x RCA) and a microphone signal (XLR) The mic input includes a 2 band EQ (bass, TREBLE) with talk-over function to override the line signal when the microphone exceeds the talk-over detection threshold.
  • ECLER WPaVOL-SR-J - a remote wall panel control for volume management and source or preset selection with front panel stereo mini-jack connector.
  • Ecler WPNET4KV - an EclerNet compatible wall panel, featuring an LCD screen, a digital rotary encoder and 4 direct selection keys. Its end-user control features are volume control, source and preset selection functions.

  • Ecler eSAM series (eSam402, eSAM603 and eSAM702) - featuring multiple mic/list st inputs. Including 3 band tone control section, Talkover (priority) function assignable to each mic/line input over the mix bus, stereo/mono mix switch and MUTE port for external dry contact triggering.
  • Ecler DAM614 - programmable audio digital mixer. Includes 6 inputs and 4 outputs, front panel input and output level controls, DSP processing, RS-232 connectivity and infrared remote E control ports (0-10VDC). Its 4 outputs can be used as mono independent zones or coupled as stereo zones. The first 2 Inputs are stereo, and the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th ones are mic/line ready (phantom available), making it possible to use them independently (mono) or as stereo-coupled inputs.
  • ECLER MIMO7272DN - Digital matrix including 72 audio inputs and 72 audio outputs (8 analogue inputs, 8 analogue outputs, 64 Dante™/AES67 digital inputs and 64 Dante™/AES67 digital outputs).

Local or Remote Control / Management

Today, researching and purchasing products nearly always results in devices that connect either to a local network or to the cloud for control and management. This provides an opportunity to lower the total cost of ownership of the devices by simplifying the onsite installation, simplifying the device configuration and by providing the ability to remotely diagnose and maintain individual devices or entire systems.

Examples are:
LEA Professional - Connect Series amplifiers are designed from the ground up to be configured and managed across a network.
Ecler – EclerNet ecosystem of devices and software to deploy, managed and used by customers.
Terracom – A suite of Audio over IP(AoIP) products using standard SIP protocol and enabling unicast, multicast or broadcast functionality over standard network architecture.

Featuring priority management, backup management, event management, built-in scheduler, volume control, acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, paging, intercom, music streaming, routing, logic control, monitoring etc...

Network Protocols

SIP: Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol used for initiating, maintaining, and terminating real-time sessions that include voice, video, and messaging applications.
Ideal for merging audio, telephony and access control, transported over standard Ethernet networks as used by Terracom.
Dante: Dante is a combination of software, hardware, and network protocols that deliver uncompressed, low-latency audio over a standard Ethernet network as used by Ecler and LEA.
